Here we are at our very first tournament as Smokin' Paws (Cool Runnings Tournament 10/97). We had only three team members and lots of helpers. The original team members are Barb Kapanowski, Kari Morningstar, and Todd Morningstar. We were very fortunate to have Shaun Chapman (Ballistics), Gary Mueller (Tailspinners), and Michelle Koons (On The Rebound), to handle our extra dogs and to have PaPa John and John Turic (Tailspinners) as box loaders. Thanks everyone for being there to help get us started.
One more very special thank you to our Smokin' Grandma (Barb's mom). We were very blessed to have her help and wish everyone could have someone like her on their team. She was the team's biggest supporter. You could always find her rubbing her cross and praying everytime we ran. She also fed the team and made sure there were plenty of hard boiled eggs. One time she got mad at Ron English (Cool Runnings) and threw one at him!
