Smokin' Paws was formed by Todd & Kari Morningstar in July 1997. Todd & Kari have played flyball since 1993. Smokin' Paws was named after Bijou, Kari's Jack Russell Terrier. Smokin' Paws is Bijou's nickname.
The team is made up of a diverse group of people. Team Members have the following interests/talents: custom sign and graphic design creation, animal artistry, veterinarian technician, teacher, dog trainer, animal rescuer, equestrian. Todd is also a flyball judge and NAFA board member. In addition to judging many of the tournaments in MI and Canada, Todd has also had the privilege of judging a couple of Purina Dog Chow Incredible Dog Challenges which air on ESPN.
Smokin' Paws has taken part in the half time shows at the Globetrotters Basketball games. We have done demos and regularly donate to Humane Societies and rescue groups. The last two years we did demos for the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.
Our performance speaks for itself. We have several dogs that are top point earners for their breed and some dogs were the first or second dog of their breed to earn a flyball title. To inquire about our team please contact us using the link below or send an e-mail to todd_kari@yahoo.com.
